Japan has always been a dream destination for me. I have visited both France and Germany and had a fantastic time in both locations but Japan and Japanese culture has been a curiosity for me since childhood. Now I begin a 2 week adventure in this country. The first experience of the trip however is the 13 hour fight leaving the California coast arriving in Tokyo. Let me tell you 13 hours in a pressurized tube with somebody buming into your back is not a fun as it sounded in the brochure. I did manage to nod off several times and had both books and movies to occupy myself. Let me share a little secret about myself for all you readers. I hate to fly! I find the very idea it terrifying. I hate the take off, I hate the flight itself and I hate the landing. Flying however is the price that musy be paid if you want to see the would. So I suck it up get on the plane and hold my breath till I land. Luckily with me on this journey is Patrick who is one of my best friends. Over the span of this 2 week trip you will all get to know both Pat and I as we fumble along trying to understand the customs and language of Japan.
